The California Maki, also known as the California roll hails from the
maki-zushi range. The roll is usually made inside-out and contains
cucumber, crabmeat and avocado rolled up in sticky rice, sprinkled with
sesame seeds and wrapped in a sheet of seaweed. A popular style of sushi
in the US and other countries, the California Roll has been influential
in sushi's global popularity and in inspiring sushi chefs around the
world in creating non-traditional fusion cuisine.
The Sushi Bar also offers an array of both authentic and modern sushi
rolls where the delicate flavors of rice, vegetables and fish are
enhanced with healthy soya sauce, ginger and wasabi. It also serves
classic hot dishes and desserts including the ’Donburi’ range, Noodles
and Yaki Udon whilst the green tea ice cream and ginger ice cream remain
favourites for dessert.
The expert sushi chefs at CLC fast become friends of the health
conscious as the health benefits of this type of Japanese cuisine are
immense. To begin with the fish provides a lean source of low-calorie,
high quality protein. It is also low in saturated fats and cholesterol,
making it a heart-healthy food choice. Salmon is especially high in
omega-3 fatty acids, which are linked to improved cholesterol levels,
lowered blood pressure, and decreased risk of abnormal heart rhythms. |
