Old Sumangalians triumph over Old Vidyalians

Old Sumangalians beat Old Moratu Vidyalians by 22 runs in their fifth annual limited overs cricket match played in line with the 60th Big Match at Moratuwa.

Batting first, Old Sumangalians scored 160 for 6 in their alloted 25 overs with Venura Viraj making the top score of 53 and Roshan Wimalasena contributed 42 runs. Sudath Nalaka and Deepal Peiris claimed 3 for 40 and 2 for 10 respectively.

In reply Vidyalians were all out for 138 runs with Gayan Fernando 47 and Lucky Rogers 34, Neil Silva captured 4 for 17 and Jayantha Silva took 2 for 27. Now the tally stands at Old Sumangalians three and Vidyalians two.

Old Sumangalins: 160 for 6 in 25 overs (Roshan Wimalasena 42, Venura Viraj 53, Indika Wijewardena 20 n.o, Sudath Nalaka 3/40, Deepal Peiris 2/10).

Old Moratu Vidyalians: 138 in 23.4 overs (Gayan Fernando 47, Lucky Rogers 34, Niel Silva 4/17, Jayantha Silva 2/27).
