Rajans celebrate fourth outright win

Dharmaraja College, Kandy registered their fourth outright win of the season when they defeated Dharmapala Vidyalaya by an innings and one run in their schools Under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Pannipitiya yesterday.

From the time the match commenced, Rajans out played their opponents. First they bowled them out for a paltry 59. Then they batted and put up a match winning total of 218 for 4 declared which they gave them a lead of 159.

Palians in their second innings fared better by scoring 158 all out but could not prevent from defeat.

Off spinner Deneth Lanka once again bowled well to capture 6 for 44 which gave him a match bag of 11 for 66 and has now captured 70 wickets for the season. Left arm spinner Arvinda Withanarachchi took 3 for 32 which gave him a match return of 8 for 53 and has now captured 93 wickets for the season.

Dharmapala Vidyalaya 59 and 158 all out in 67 overs (Asanka Sameera 26, Ashan Jayasanka 26, Yasith Lakshan 25, Deneth Lanka 6 for 44, Arvinda Withanarachchi 3 for 32)
