Rahula and Dharmapala enter big match scene

Rahula College, Matara and Dharmapala Colege, Pannipitiya will play their inaugaral big match on April 7 and 8 at the Uyanwatta stadium Matara. The name for this encounter is still to be decided.

The battle of the two cities between Rahula College and St Aloysius College Galle was doomed after St. Aloysius refused to send their team for the 50 over encounter scheduled to be played on March 28.

There had been incidents of violence between spectators through out the eight-year history of the game and the worst was when spectators man handled the two Aloysius batsmen on the field of play last year.

Rahula College will host this years encounter between these two leading Buddhist educational institutions. The game between these schools, 100 miles apart was finalized last Tuesday (6th) and with the new express way which will connect Matara and Colombo distance will not be a detrimental factor.
