Naval Vessels P411 and P483 attached to the Eastern Naval Command assisted in the rescue of an Indian national, who had fallen overboard in the SAR region under purview of Sri Lanka on Sunday. He was brought to the Naval Hospital in Trincomalee and transferred to the Trincomalee government hospital for further treatment. The rescued is a crew member of a Singapore merchant vessel which had been en route from Goa to Chennai. A fishing vessel had first sighted the victim and rescued him in the seas off Little Basses. SLN vessel took over the patient and carried out emergency medical treatment.
