Butler out of rehab, into 'Brilliant'
Fresh out of rehab, Gerard Butler is wasting no time getting back to
work.

Variety reports that the Scottish 300 star has signed on to play the
lead in 'Brilliant', a heist flick helmed by Robert Luketic, Butler's
director on the critically reviled rom-com 'The Ugly Truth'.
Butler replaces Eric Bana, who had been tabbed for the starring role,
a petty criminal who joins with a female thief to mount an ambitious
diamond heist. We can only hope said "female thief" won't be played by
Katherine Heigl.
Reports emerged that Butler had completed a three-week stay in the
Betty Ford Center for an addiction to pills stemming from an injury
suffered while filming the surf movie Of Men and Mavericks.
Unfortunately for Butler, the addiction occurred far too recently to
exonerate him for 'The Ugly Truth'.
He can next be seen this April in the comic short-film compilation
'Movie 43'. He's slated to begin work on 'Brilliant' in Boston this May. |
