The Dolosmahe Danveta (year round dansala) programme launched by the programme committee to invoke blessings on President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a historic event which should be recorded in a stone inscription, said Anuradhapura Sri Sambudda Jayanthi Viharadhipati Ven. Nugetenne Pannananda Nayake Thera.

He said so delivering an anusasana at a sanghika dana to 100 bhikkhus held near the Ruwanmeliseya premises to mark the 100th day of the Danveta programme on Wednesday.

Ven Pannananda Thera said minister S. M. Chandrasena and Co-chairman of the Danveta programme committee Ranjith Samarakoon, had rendered a splendid job in organizing this programme by inducing philanthropists and the public to contribute lavishly towards this unique pinkama. He said that foreign forces which accused the government and the heroic Security Forces of violating human rights had conveniently forgotten the service rendered by them by liberating thousands of civilians from the terrorist clutches.
