President to meet fishing community reps

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will meet representatives of fishing
organizations in Negombo and Chilaw to solve problems faced by the
fishing community in the districts.
The decision was arrived at by the President at a meeting with
Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and Catholic priests of Negombo and
Chilaw at Temple Trees yesterday.
A meeting with fishing community representatives of Chilaw and
Negombo will be held at Temple Trees today.
The Cardinal thanked the President for exchanging views pertaining to
the problems of the fishing community with the priests of the relevant
areas.
The President told the priests that solutions will be provided to the
fishermen at the meeting.
Bishop of Chilav Velence Mendis, Rev Patrick Perera, Rev
Kurukulasuriya and Rev Lester Nonis together with Senior Minister Milroy
Fernando and Ministers Basil Rajapaksa, Rajitha Senarathne, Felix
Perera, Neomal Perera, Sarath Kumara Gunarathna and Parliamentarian Dr
Sudarshani Fernandopullei were also present at the discussion.
