Saudi Arabia, Iran and UAE have donated a stock of 200 metric tons of dates to Sri Lanka
for distribution among Islamic devotees during Ramazan. The stock was symbolically
handed over to Prime Minister D M Jayaratne at Visumpaya, Colombo by the envoys of the respective countries recently. Here, Saudi Arabia's ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al Jammaz hands over the dates to the Prime Minister. Senior Minister A H M Fowzie, Muslim Affairs Department director Y L M Navavi and other officials were also present.

A mass public protest against the anti-Lanka resolution to be tabled before the UNHRC sessions was held in Bulathsinhala on Sunday jointly organized by Pasyodunrata DevelopmentFoundation and alliance of civil society organizations in Bulathsinhala. Ports and Highways Deputy Minister and Bulathsinhala SLFP chief organizer Nirmala Kotelawala and Panadura UC chairman Nandana Gunatilleka also participated.

A protest campaign against the US sponsored anti-Sri Lanka Resolution at the UNHRC sessions was held at Anuradhapura yesterday led by Provincial Minister and Anuradhapura East SLFP chief organizer H B Semasinghe.
