Marians in an innings win over NCC
YASARATNE GAMAGE
An eight wicket haul by Malinda Pushpakumara (8 for 129) and another
fine spell by Umesh Karunaratne (5 for 33 in both innings) helped Chilaw
Marians to overcome NCC by an innings and 84 runs in the Premier
League Tournament Tier A three day match concluded at NCC grounds
yesterday.
A wonderful century by Harsha Coorey (106 n.o.) and Amal
Athulathmudali (85) with Mahela Udawatte ( 60 ) helped Chilaw Marians CC
to total up 402 for 9 in their first innings reply to the NCC who were
all out for 98. NCC for their second innings only made 220.

Navy tames BRC
Sri Lanka Navy SC overcame BRC by 157 runs in the Premier League
Tournament Tier B match at BRC ground yesterday. Lakmal Keerthiratne
(5 for 45) and consistent bowling from the others in the line up
together with three half centuries from Navy batsmen helped them to
score 304 for 9 in the second innings and restrict BRC to 210 all out.

150 by Gayan Maneshan at Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala yesterday.

Prasanna drives Army to victory
An unbeaten knock of 155 runs and a superb spell by Seekkuge Prasanna
(7 for 55) helped SL Army SC to defeat Police SC by 10 wickets in
another encounter in the same tournament at Army grounds, Panagoda.
