Lottery seller shot dead

The body of a male with gunshot inquiries was found in Ambagahawadiya in Nattandiya. The deceased has been identified as Edirippulige Rukman (40) a lottery seller and a father of one. A 9 mm revolver and 2 cartridges had been found near the body. The victim had been wearing a helmet and it was suspected that he had been shot while riding a motorcycle.

Investigations have revealed that the deceased had been living alone with his 6-year old daughter in Mailewa, since his wife had gone abroad for employment.

However, since the child too had disappeared police suspect that the victim had been shot while riding along with his daughter on the motorcycle and that the assailants would have abducted the child.
