Navy in major conch shell find

Sri Lanka naval personnel attached to the SLNS Gajaba of the North-Central Naval Command recovered 10 bags of conch shells in Erukkulampiddi, recently.

Sri Lanka Navy media spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasooriya told the Daily News yesterday that they had found this haul of conch shells according to information received. He said 2,520 conch shells were in these bags.

The Naval personnel had found these bags under water in the Erukkulampiddi area. The recovered items were handed over to the Mannar Police for further investigations, Commander Warnakulasooriya said.
