Complaint copy immediately

The Police Headquarters will introduce a new information book to all police stations which will enable to issue a copy of a complaint instantly, the Police Public Relations Unit said yesterday.

It is a must to obtain a copy of a complaint when a person loses an identity card, driving license, passport, vehicle registration certificate and other important documents. Many police stations do not have stationery to issue a copy of an entry.

A copy is issued after a written request from the complainant and the process goes through several stages depending on the nature of the complaint.

There have been instances where complainants had to wait for hours and even days to get a copy certified by the Officer in Charge.
