Basil lauds Sri Lanka Red Cross Society

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa hands over an
award to a student at the 75th anniversary celebrations of the
Sri Lanka Red Cross Society at the BMICH.

The Sri Lanka Red Cross occupies a prominent position among local and
foreign Non-Governmental Organizations in Sri Lanka, Economic
Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 75th anniversary
celebrations of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society at the BMICH on February
13.
Minister Rajapaksa said the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society is the
strongest organization among local and foreign Non Governmental
Organizations operating in the country.
The minister awarded this year's D A Rajapaksa Memorial Scholarship
to Thangaveli Sivadasan, a student from Chavakachcheri Maha Vidyalaya.
Presidential Parliamentary Affairs secretary Kumarasiri Hettige and Sri
Lanka Red Cross Society president Jagath Abeysinghe also participated. |
