Dengue warning in six districts

Dengue has shown signs of raising its head once again in six districts, the Health Ministry said in a press release yesterday. The release said the six districts are Kandy, Puttalam, Kegalle, Matara, Kurunegala and Batticaloa.

The ministry directed the authorities to intensify mosquito control activities in the district. Meanwhile, Dengue Control Programme director Dr Ranjith Batuwanthudawe said 4,800 dengue patients have been reported throughout the country so far this year.
