Market volatile

The Colombo equity market displayed a high volatile trading session today.

The bourse surged to green zone in early trading and gradually declined with lost momentum. However in latter part of trading the market regained its momentum to end with a surprising boost.

ASI increased by 13.84 points (+0.28%) to close at 5,023.80 and liquid MPI advanced by 19.82 points (+0.46%) to end at 4,373.62.

Market turnover stood at Rs.1.4billion.

Lanka Milk Foods Plc (Rs.350.7million) was the highest contributor to the daily turnover followed by PC Pharma Plc (Rs.180.0million) and HVA Foods Plc (Rs.55.8million).
