Chandrasena Perera to be honoured in Japan
Chandrasena Perera, who achieved excellence in still photography,
recently bagged one of the highest award for his photograph titled ‘Look
at Water Window’ from the 72nd All Japan Association of Photographic
Societies (AJAPS), the International Photographic Salon of Japan, the
Asahi Shimbun.

The exhibition will be held in major Japanese cities from April 10
for about one year. The prize-winning works can be seen on
www.photoasahi.com. The winning medal will be given at a ceremony in
April at Sinagava Tokyo japan Canon Open gallery. Photographer
Chandrasena Perear expects to be there on that occasion.
Altogether a total of 9410 works (overseas, 6125) from 42 countries
were received for selection.
An award-winning short film-maker and feature film scriptwriter
Chandrasena Perera began his career as a freelance journalist at the
Independent Newspaper. He became an award-wining short story writer and
painter under the guidance of senior artiste Joe Dambulugala.
Photography was close to his heart from the 70s. He belongs to the
generation of 70s who were searching for new avenues of artistic
expressions.
