Books for 21 schools in Maharagama

Construction, Engineering Services Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa under his Schools Library Development Project presented books worth Rs 4,00,000 to 21 schools in the Maharagama electorate at a ceremony held at Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya recently.

This donation was made out of his decentralized funds on a request made by Maharagama Urban Councillor Thilak Weerasinghe.

Minister Weerawansa made an appeal to all the ministers, MPs provincial councillors to utilize a share of their decentralized funds to develop schools libraries as it is an investment for the future.

Urban Councillor Cordinator of the project Thilak Weerasinghe, Homagama PS member Ruwan Peeris, Sri Jayawardenapura Zonal Education Director C N G P Mudalige, Maharagama Divisional Secretary Buddhi Taranga Karunasena also graced the occasion.
