Human bones found in crocodile captured in Ragama

Human bones were found in the stomach of a 35 - year - old dead crocodile brought to the Zoological Gardens, Dehiwela, said veterinary surgeon Jagath Jayasekara.

The crocodile about 15-feet long and weighing between 800 and 900kgs was captured in a swamp in Ragama by residents on Wednesday morning. Jayasekara said that they believe that the crocodile had eaten a man. Bones were submitted to the Ragama Medical Faculty Forensic Department for further investigations.

He said the crocodile was brought to the National Zoological Gardens on the request of the Wildlife Department as it was badly injured.
