Over 200,000 vehicles at exhibition
Over 200,000 vehicles arrive at the Deyata Kirula exhibition by
yesterday. Around 30,000 vehicles arrived at the Deyata Kirula
exhibition daily, apart from public transportation.
Three vehicle parks have been set up with all facilities on a hundred
acre land to provide parking facilities for these vehicles.
According to reports from the Deyata Kirula exhibition organization
committee, most vehicles are passenger coaches arriving from various
parts of the country.
A survey being conducted at the entrance of the exhibition premises
reveals that around 350,000 visitors visit the Deyata Kirula exhibition
daily.
"A special traffic plan will probably be implemented today and
tomorrow to provide a hassle free transport service to visitors",
Anudarhapura Superintendent of Police Mahesh Senarathne said.
"However, the new traffic plan will come into force only if required
on the final days. Otherwise, the normal traffic plan which is in place
on other days will be in operation," he said .
According to the special traffic plan, the Anuradhapura - Wilachchiya
road will be used only for traffic moving towards the Deyata Kirula
exhibition.
Vehicles from the Deyata Kirula exhibition site will have to use
Oyamaduwa -Nochchiyagama road to reach Anuradhapura.
One way vehicular traffic movement will be allowed on both these
roads during the final two days on February 11 and 12.
Police request motorists to abide by the traffic plan by following
the traffic laws.
