Thurstan College Colombo, hopes to do better this season in under 19
school cricket. With the number of talented players they hope to go for
more victories.
The team is led by third year player Sajeewa Salgado, who has turned
in good performances in both batting and bowling. This season he made a
total of 850 runs with a best individual score of 142 runs against
Mahanama College. Apart from that he has made two centuries at the match
against Prince of Wales College in both innings (first innings 101 and
second innings 108).
All-rounder Kavindu Kulasekara is the star player of the team. He
possesses a total of 502 runs in nine matches with two centuries this
season. His Highest score is 151 runs against Joseph Vaz College.

Rajith Perera is one of the talented players of the team who has
contributed in both batting and bowling. This season he has bagged 57
wickets from the matches played so far with a best performance of six
for 37 against Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya and five five-wicket
hauls (against Joseph Vaz (five for 77), St.Anthony's Kandy (five for
34), St Sebastians (five for 82), Mahanama (five for 37) and Pannipitiya
(six for 37). Ashan Wanigaratne who is another senior player, is the
vice captain of the side. This right hander has knocked 359 runs
including 44 boundaries in 11matches for the season with a century. His
highest individual score was against Dharmapala College,
Pannipitiya(102).
Right arm fast bowler Dulan Charuka is a vital link in their bowling
department having captured 25 wickets including a best effort of eight
for 25 against Maris Stella College, Negombo.
"We have a balanced line up of talented young players. Most of them
have the talent. Almost all the players have made great performances
during the last few matches. I'm happy with my team and hope they will
do better in the coming matches" says Shanaka Fernando, the coach of the
team. The team gets the support of Principal, Old Boys Association,
Coach, Master In Charge and well-wishers.
The rest of the players of Thurstan College Under 19 first XI squad
are Minhaj Jaleel , Ramindu Kumarasinghe ,Avishka Peiris , Kavindu Silva
, Achintha Kalpana , Pamoth Gunawardana , Thimira Jayasinghe , Senal
Wijesinghe , Sajith Peiris , Tharindu Silva and Chinthaka Udaya.
