Praise and worship

An exclusive service of "Praise and Worship" will be held on February 12 at 10.30 am at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka Mawatha Colombo 7. The speaker and minister at this service will be Dr Vijaya Corea who will deliver a sermon on the three 'Ps' - "Promises/Problems/Provision". A special feature will be the availability of individual anointed prayer for those present.

Plans to commence NCP canal project

The Irrigation and Water Management Ministry has drawn up a plan to commence the North Central Province (NCP) canal project this year to eliminate the provinces water problems, Irrigation and Water Management Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told the Daily News.

Schols for undergrads

Fifty five undergraduates will receive scholarships from the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddha, Saudi Arabia.

Former Speaker and Sri Lanka Islamic Centre chairman M H Mohamed will handover the scholarships at a ceremony at the Sri Lanka Islamic Centre, Maligawatte, Colombo 10 on February 12.

School Birthday 2012 at DS

Principal, teachers, old boys, prefects and students of D S Senanayake College, Colombo will present the School Birthday 2012 today at 8am at the school premises.

The school which marks its 45th anniversary has planned a host of events. This includes the unveiling of a first day cover and stamp.

Lecture on nutrition

A public lecture on nutrition by Dr Renuka Silva will be held on February 21 at 4.30pm at the American Centre Auditorium.

Participants must be in their seats by 4.20pm.

Get-together

A get together and concert organized by the Past Pupils Association of the Pelmadulla Gankanda Madya Maha Vidyalaya will be held at the Kuruwita Gamunu Regiment Swimming Pool Complex on February 11 at 7 p.m. All past pupils are invited to attend.
