MP Namal Rajapaksa wants maximum speed on expressway

UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa requested Parliament yesterday, to issue a day pass to daily travellers on the Southern Expressway, observing that a large number of people, including politicians and businessmen, were using the expressway daily.

He also requested that the maximum speed limit on the expressway be increased to 120 km per hour. He observed that it would be a benefit to all those who use the expressway. Namal Rajapaksa MP also said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa would lay the foundation stone for the construction of outer circular roads of Colombo, within the next few days, adding that the Colombo - Kandy Expressway would be constructed through Kurunegala.

He made these observations joining in the debate on the Regulations under the National Thoroughfares Act.
