The Public Service Commission on President Mahinda Rajapaksa's advice
appointed Chandrapala Liyanage as the Additional Director General of the
Department of Government Information.
Liyanage who was the Presidential Media Coordinating Director from
2005 to 2008, joined the Government Information Department as an
Information Officer in 1994.
He has worked as a media coordinating officer at the Ministries of
Trade and Commerce, Posts and Telecommunications, Mass Media and
Vocational Training.
He also worked as the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister when
President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Prime Minister.
Liyanage, an old boy of Richmond College, Galle and Neluwa National
School is a graduate of the Ruhuna University.
