Province Environment Minister Udaya Gammanpila at the Green pavilion of
the EDEX Expo exhibition held last month.
This song compiled by a Sri Lankan team was initially launched at the
United Nations Climate Change Conference held in South Africa.
Make It Green Again was a project of British Council's International
Climate specialist Nilanke Panthiarachchi in cooperation with his fellow
climate specialists Sikander Sabeer, Anoka Abeyrathne and Mohamed Huzni.
The project was initiated by Earthlanka.net web site with their online
network (www.earthlanka.net) with the support of several other
organizations in Sri Lanka.
The introduction of this audio visual component was aimed to create
awareness, sensitivity and interest among peer groups and local
communities to act on climate change and environment degrading
practices.
The lyrics were compiled by Y A Sriyani Yapa with the music produced
by Kalasoori Diliup Gabadamudalige. Filming of this project was carried
out in the borders of Sinharaja rain forest, in the premises of Ceylon
