Misleading news on minister

The Mass Media and Information Ministry in a press release says that certain websites and media are disseminating erroneous and misleading news items in websites and media over the health condition and accident of minister Keheliya Rambukwella in Melbourne.

The release states that minister Rambukwella accompanied his son cricketer Ramith Rambukwella to take treatment for his knee injury. On completion of his son's treatment on February 7, the father and son were to come back to Sri Lanka on February 8 when the minister sustained a fracture in one leg at the hotel they were occupying. The release said that the minister underwent two surgeries and he is now recovering.

The release said that certain websites and electronic media are carrying misleading information that the minister is in a serious condition. It said the minister is recovering in Australia and will be back in Sri Lanka in two weeks.
