Rs. one m for each GN division under Gama Neguma

The government will grant Rs one million to each Grama Naladhari
Division under the "Gama Neguma" development project, Prime Minister
D.M.Jayaratne said.
The Prime Minister was addressing a meeting of public representatives
at the Gampola UPFA Office recently.
He pointed out that reports calling for proposed projects of the
public representatives had already commenced and funds for these
projects will be released through the respective Divisional Secretariat.
This will be programme will be implemented concurrently to the "Gama
Neguma" development project.
The government has given priority for rural development programmes
which are launched in keeping with the people's needs, the Prime
Minister stated.
"President Mahinda Rajapaksa is not a leader who has forgotten the
village. He wants to fulfill the hopes and wishes of rural communities.
"We are not worried about politics but our main target is to develop
all rural areas. This is our fervent wish. This is not an election
period. But we are coming to the villages for fulfill the public needs
and requirements.", the PM further said.
