The Lake House stall at the
Media Zone attracted hundreds of visitors from various parts
of the country throughout the day. Visitors to the Lake
House stall are briefed about print media. A printing
machine used to print Lake House newspapers is also
displayed at the Lake House stall.

issued free to visitors at the Lake House stall. The first
pages issued to visitors are printed at the Lake House stall
in the old printing machine. Admission is free for
schoolchildren and teachers. The others have to purchase a
Rs 20 ticket. |
The Deyata Kirula exhibition provides visitors a vast knowledge in
numerous fields, visitors to the Deyata Kirula Exhibition in Oyamadu,
Anuradhapura said. “Deyata Kirula is not a mere exhibition, but gives
the visitors invaluable knowledge and exposure to many sectors. All
visitors benefit from the knowledge and experience at the exhibition,”
said Anuruddha Amarasinghe, Principal of a school in Mawanella, who
accompanied schoolchildren to the exhibition.
Thousands visited the sixth Deyata Kirula national development
exhibition on the fourth day of the exhibition yesterday. The entire 500
acre exhibition site was filled with visitors from various parts of the
country. The visitors were from Badulla, Ratnapura, Matara and Colombo.
By the end of the fourth day of the exhibition, over 900,000 people
had visited the Deyata Kirula exhibition.
The fourth day saw the largest ever crowd numbering 350,000. Deyata
Kirula Exhibition Committee secretary Udaya Senaviratne said over
250,000 had visited the exhibition by yesterday noon. “It is expected
that the visitor turn out will exceed 900,000 by the end of the fourth
day,” he said.
All stalls were filled with visitors of all age groups. A significant
number of schoolchildren were also seen at the exhibition. However, the
Media Zone and the Security Forces and Transport Department stalls were
the main attractions. A large number also visited the gallows at the
Deyata Kirula exhibition premises, setup by the Prisons Reforms and
Rehabilitation Ministry. |
