Mercantile Investments pile up 417 for 6

Mercantile Investments Ltd., created history when they became the first team in any MCA tournament to go past the 400-runs mark as they posted 417 for 6 in 40 0vers against CW Mackie & Co. in the ongoing 10th DPMC – Bajaj, MCA “E” division 40 overs League tournament , continued last week-end.

Mercantile Investments astronomical total at Ananda Mawatha, revolved around an opening stand of 155 runs between Prasad Senaratne (70 in 44 balls, inclusive of 10 fours and three sixes) and Dileepa Marlon (113 in 77 balls, inclusive of 20 fours and a six), followed by a 98 runs, 4th wicket stand between Chinthaka Seram (82 in 59 balls) and finally Rukshan Suriarachchi putting the finishing touches with an unbeaten 68 runs in 26 balls with 8 fours and five sixes. MIL’s 417 runs in 242 balls included 48 fours and 16 sixes.
