Lee out of tri series

The good news for the Sri Lanka and Indian batsmen is that they will not have to face the thunder bolts of Australian pace gun Brett Lee in the eagerly awaited Commonwealth Bank Tri series 50-over tournament here.

Lee who was storming in, in the two Twenty20 games against India in Sydney and Melbourne suffered a broken foot while bowling in the final Twenty20 game won by India and has been ruled out of the tournament.

Lee was seen steaming in, in the two games working up frightening pace and the Indian batsmen were not at all comfortable facing his well directed express deliveries.

Australia will certainly feel his loss. But the pace cupboard is full of bowlers who are as good as Lee and the Australian selectors will gave another promising youngster an opportunity to make good.

Cricket Australia team doctor said, “Brett Lee suffered a fracture of his right foot when he was struck by a ball in the last over of his spell during the KFC T20 against India at the MCG on Friday night.
