Volleyball picture of the year

A picture taken by Prasad Rashmika, employed at the Media Unit of Bureau of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare, in an SLVF event, held in Hali-Ela in the Uva Province, has won the award for the best volleyball picture taken in year 2011.

The awards winning Photograph featured 12 year old school girl, Nethimini Sakya of Mugunumatha Maha Vidyalaya, Hali-Ela and it was selected out of over 1000 pictures submitted by the 220 countries affiliated to the FIVB, the the World Controlling Body for both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
