Thai woman nabbed with cocaine haul at BIA

The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) at the Bandaranaike International Airport arrested a Thai woman aged 22 with over 1.475 kgs of cocaine in her possession yesterday.

She was arrested following a tip-off.

Investigations are on to find out if she had brought the cocaine from Sri Lanka or Thailand.

The PNB said the cocaine is valued at over Rs 25 million.

The cocaine had been concealed in chocolate nuggets.

The suspect had stayed in Sri Lanka for two days and was to leave for Bangkok via Dubai.
