Ceylinco conducts 'Life Insurance Week'
The 5,000-strong sales force of Ceylinco Life will soon be deployed
across the country on a concerted public awareness campaign as Sri
Lanka's life insurance leader conducts its fifth annual 'Life Insurance
Week,' to promote the value of life insurance.
The initiative, through which an additional 50,000 families have
received the protection of life insurance from Ceylinco Life over the
past four years, will be conducted from February 11 to 17, 2012.
According to statistics, only 10.9 percent of Sri Lankans are covered
with life insurance. Before the start of Ceylinco Life's Life Insurance
Week initiative in 2008, the penetration of life insurance was below 10
percent.
"While there has been an increase in the numbers of people obtaining
life insurance, penetration is still far too low," Ceylinco Life's
Deputy CEO Thushara Ranasinghe said. "People underestimate the value of
life insurance, and as the market leader in the sector, Ceylinco Life
takes its responsibility of changing this situation seriously, as
demonstrated by the scale of this campaign."
Members of the sales team of Ceylinco Life will visit individuals who
have been identified through surveys as potential leads during the
designated period.
Representatives of the company will also present a special gift pack
to the children of those visited, the company said.
The Life Insurance Week will be preceded by a media campaign through
which policyholders of Ceylinco Life will present true accounts of how
they have benefited by obtaining life insurance. A series of activities
at the branch level are also planned for the week.
