Following the news item in the Daily News under the headline
'Biscuits from vegetables and fruits' on December 20, 2011, the
innovator of these biscuits, a resident from Kataragama, has got several
inquiries from overseas.
The resident who does not wish to reveal his identity has made
biscuits out of bread fruit, ripe jak, beans, pumpkins and carrot.
A foreign investor from Toronto, Canada has informed him that he is
ready to buy his technology for a biscuit factory he is planning to
start shortly. Some others from abroad has also asked for samples of the
biscuits while some had already asked to be appointed as agents in their
countries for the new product.
He has also informed about the invention to the President. A state
bank has also promised to give him a loan to start a factory.
Industrial Development Board Small and Medium Scale Industries
Section director M C Gamage has invited him for a discussion.
He intends to start his own factory or to give his technology to any
foreign investor starting a biscuit factory in Sri Lanka as it would
generate jobs for unemployed youths. |
