Annual shipping program
ICLP-CCC Certificate Course in Shipping Law & Practice created by a
joint venture between the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Institute
for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice (ICLP) aims at
developing the academic infrastructure necessary to facilitate
commercial development within the country.
The course will be open from February 12 to professionals, lawyers
and shipping industry personnel. It is expected that Sri Lanka's
position as a leader in the maritime industry will be cemented with the
drastic changes along the major international sea trading routes around
Sri Lanka which would create direct and indirect career opportunities
within the country.
Taught by a leading panel of experts and industry leaders the course
intends to present a comprehensive understanding of the maritime
industry of Sri Lanka. Those who graduate will possess a thorough
knowledge of Maritime and Admiralty Law and be versed in other areas
such as the carriage of goods by sea, charter parties, port operations,
maritime insurance and custom formalities.
A special rate of 15% discount will be offered for five or more
company nominees and concessions will be available for Attorneys-at-Law
with less than two years experience and half-scholarships for deserving
