SP schools chess tourney in progress

The Chess Association of the Southlands College, Galle conducts the Southern Province Schools Individual Chess Tournament and it is now in progress. The tournament concludes tomorrow at their college premises.

Nearly 1500 chess players from Matara, Hambantoa and Galle Districts are participating in the provincial tournament which is the prelude to the national level tournament.

The events will be held in girls and boys under 8,10,12,14 and 16 age categories.

Sports meet of Holy Cross College

The 82nd annual sports meet of the Holy Cross College, Kalutara will be held today at the school ground. The chief guest will be the Bishop of Anuradhapura, Rt. Rev. Dr. Norbert Andradi.

The school has always been well known for both education and improving skills of children as a part of their school education. Students will compete under their respective houses, Britian, Cruze, Heral and Robort.
