Bourse ends with hope
bourse ended in green yesterday, giving a ray of optimism to
investors. ASI increased by 36.11 points (+0.65%) to end at 5,592.40
where as sensitive MPI jumped by 21.53 points (+0.45%) to end at
4,758.46.
Market turnover was recorded at Rs2.3 billion.
John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs1.5 billion) made the strongest
contribution to the daily turnover.
JKH recorded eight off-the-floor deals of 7.9 million shares at a
price of Rs167 and one off the floor deal of 0.3mn shares at a price of
Rs160. These crossings were considered to be foreign purchases.The
counter closed at Rs163, up Rs3.40 (+2.13%).
Meanwhile Blue Diamonds voting and nonvoting, Nation Lanka Finance
Plc and Alufab Plc traded heavily during the day.
