| The University of Kelaniya recently
set up a Centre for Gender Studies (CGSUK), the first of its
kind in a Sri Lankan University. The centre’s website was
also launched by the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof
Sarath Amunugama in the presence of university academics and
administrative staff. CGSUK Director Prof M K Wickramasinghe
was also present. The CGSUK was established to engage with
gender-related issues. The website is http://www.kin.ac.lk/units/cgs.
