'The press should be exponent of development'
The press should be the friend and exponent of National Development
Programmes of a country, former Indian President Dr Abdul Kalam told
newsmen in Jaffna.
He said politics is inextricably entwined with progress and
development.
The press should instead of giving importance to political news lead
the people in development activities of the country. They should be the
torch bearers of national integration, development and unity.
He said the press should be committed to truth, justice and fairplay. |
