Visiting Omani minister assures constant support

Omani Petroleum Minister Dr. Mohamed Bin Hamad Al-Rumhi assured their constant support to Sri Lanka in case of a petroleum or gas crisis in Sri Lanka.

He made this observation following an initial discussion to explore the investment opportunities between Sri Lanka and Oman in the field of petroleum when he called on Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha. Dr. Mohamad Bin was warmly welcomed by the minister at the Petroleum Ministry auditorium yesterday where he conveyed that Omani government is keen on investing in Sri Lanka in areas apart from the petroleum industry in the future.

Omani ambassador Sheikh Humaid Al Al-Maani, Deputy Petroleum Industries Minister Sarana Gunawardena, Ministry Secretary Dr. R. H. S. Samarathunga and Senior Additional Secretary A. H. S. Wijesinghe also attended the meeting. The Omani minister also called on Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
