Panadura Royal in major upset

Panadura Royal created a major upset by defeating the more fancied D.S.Senanayake College by 10 wickets at Panadura yesterday. Panadura Royal resuming their first innings at 213 for nine were all out for 263. The main wreckers were Saveen Cyril (three for 38) and Duleeka Brahmanage (two for zero). Trailing by 146 runs on the first innings, D.S.Senanayake batting a second time were bundled out for 146 runs with the main destroyers being Kavindu Ashan (four for 35) and Asitha Fernando (three for 64)

Panadura Royal scored the required four runs to win by 10 wickets.

Panadura Royal : 263 (Asitha Fernando 34, Suchintha Karunaratne 2 for 49, Duleeka Brahmanage 2 for 0, Saveen Cyril 3 for 38) and 4 for no wickets.
