Turbo-Slim launched

‘Sri Lanka is like a cocoon for foreign investors where there is plenty of space to expand.’ VLCC Health Care Lanka General Manager Karan Rekhi told ‘Daily News Business’. He said this at the launch of a unique slimming solution titled Turbo -Slim a First of its Kind in Sri Lanka at VLCC centre in Colombo 7 yesterday. This was launched by the founder VLCC Vandana Luthra a well-known entrepreneur in South Asia.

VLCC Health Care is a BOI project with an investment of USD 15 million which has given 75 direct employment opportunities for Sri Lankan women at the inception of the company recently. The company started with two centres first in Wijerama Colombo 7 and the second in Nugegoda. Plans are underway to expand it to two more cities including Kandy.

Rekhi said that a cocoon does not show how much silk thread it has inside but it gives a lot of them once started and the potential in Sri Lankan market is also the same in healthcare industry. It is a fantastic opportunity for people looking for it,” he said.

Vandana Luthra said it is a matter of pride for her to come to Sri Lanka as an entrepreneur giving employment mostly to women having started at a time when the Indian market was still at a nascent. She said Sri Lankan women who are working with VLCC are multitasking and in par with other countries. She has employed 4,000 women in VLCC centres worldwide.

Referring to her new product she said Sri Lanka is an exciting market and people today are looking for instant results. In the meantime obesity is on the rise and there is a total monopoly for the company. This programme is extremely effective and gives visible results in the shortest time and healthiest manner.

VLCC group is present in 260 locations across over 109 cities and in 19 centres in international markets including Oman Dubai, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
