DSS crush Lumbini

D.S.Senanayake College,recorded its third outright win for the season when they beat Lumbini Vidyalaya by an innings and 13 runs in their under 19 inter-schools match played at Wijerama Mawatha.

Lumbini scored 170 in 39.1 overs in their first innings. Left hander Jammika Dharana scored 46 runs inclusive of 11 boundaries.

Right arm medium pacee Suchintha Karunaratne captured four wickets for 47 while Supun Madushanka bagged two for 41. Lumbini had to get 214 to avert innings defeat and they were bowled out for 200 runs.

Left hander Pradeep Wasantha scored 47 runs for Lumbini including seven boundaries. He was well supported by Janith Dias who scored 32. Right arm pacee Binura Fernando was the most impressive among the bowlers taking three wickets for 26 while right arm medium pacee Suchintha Karunaratne captured three wickets for 45.
