Work on second Abimansala commences tomorrow

The construction of the second 'Abimansala', the wellness resort for
disabled War Heroes in the Southern Province will commence in
Kamburupitiya, Matara tomorrow, under the patronage of Army Commander
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.
The entire 'Abimansala 2' project estimated to cost around Rs 200
million lies in a 10 acre natural environment, enriched with rich
bio-diversity.
The Abimansala will provide 48 totally disabled War Heroes with every
facility including therapeutic aids. The Abimansala will comprise seven
villas, five cottages, ward complex for 20 inmates, swimming pool,
gymnasium, physiotherapy unit, medical wing, medical laboratory,
library, indoor stadium, entertainment hall, auditorium, herbal
treatment (Ayurveda) centre along with few more essential wings.
The first Abimansala which provides facilities for 51 totally
disabled war heroes was opened in Anuradhapura last year.
