Kingswood win by 165 runs

Kingswood College, Kandy scored their first outright win in three years when they beat P de S. Kularatne Maha Vidyalya, Ambalangoda by 165 runs in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at Police grounds. Kandy yesterday.

The highlight of the Match was the fine all-round performance by Chamara Unamboowe who scored 41 not out and 52 not out (6 fours, 3 sixes in 32 balls) and also took a match bag of 6 for 23 for Kingswood College.

The visiting team were set a victory target of 289 and they were dismissed for 123 in the 12th mandatory over. Off spinner Tharindu Liyanage bowled best to capture 3 for 12.

Kingswood College 221 all out and 199 for 8 decl in 39 overs (Tharaka Marasinghe 14, Randika Wijeratne 47, Nisitha Weerakoon 30, Kasun Bandara 14, Lakmal Hettiarachchi 23, Chamara Unamboowe 52 not out L.L. Shanika 3 for 58, C. Madhushan 2 for 50).

P. De S. Kularatne MV 132 all out and 123 all out in 44.4 overs (R. Eranga 24, C. Nadishan 23, L. Chamod 16, L.L. Shanika 10, A.C. Bandara 2 for 14, Chamara Unamboowe 2 for 12 Mahes Lankatillaka 2 for 32, Tharindu Liyanage 3 for 16).
