Jamaldeen continues to head Rugby Referees Society
One of Sri Lanka’s leading referees Nizam Jamaldeen was re-elected
president of the Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Society at the AGM held at the
Police Welfare Association Auditorium, Colombo 5 on Saturday.

Former Police and Sri Lanka fly half Jamaldeen who has also
officiated in several International Rugby Tournaments including the
Dubai Sevens and Hong Kong Sevens received 60 votes while his opponent
Mahinda Jayawardena obtained only 12 votes.
After being re-elected for the second successive year Jamaldeen
thanked all those who supported him and did an excellent job during the
season.
He also said that he would conduct more seminars and give more
foreign exposure to referees this year and recruit more former players
to the Referees Society.
Jamaldeen also paid a glowing tribute to senior referees Tony Amirh,
Anil Jayasinghe, Vipula Dharmadasa, Wimal Perera, Wimal Senanayake and
Shamrath Fernando for the support extended to him last year.
