Wickremashila NS in strong position

Wickremashila National Schools were in a strong position at the end of the first days play in their inter-schools cricket match against Wayamba Royal College which began at Giriulla yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30 am.

Wayamba Royal’s innings was propped up by two good knocks skipper Thrindu Ekanayake 53 (8 fours) and T. Samapth 50 (6 fours) which helped them to total 197. At close Wickremashila had replied strong with 143 for 3.

Wayamba Royal College: 197 all out in 46.1 overs (Yashod Kavinda 46, C. Wijesinghe 11, Tharindu Ekanayake 53, T. Sampath 50, Lakmal Herath 14, T. Edirisinghe 3 for 32, S. Abeysinghe 2 for 10, N. Ranatunga 3 for 38).
