Panadura Royal gain lead

Royal College, Panadura has already gained a first innings lead of 53 runs with five wickets intact in their inter-schools under 19 cricket match against Moratu Vidyalaya played at Moratuwa.

At the end of day one, visitors were 216 for 5 with Dumindu Ashan missing a well deserved century by five runs which included twelve fours.

He associated a third wicket partnership of 101 with Kavindu Ashan who made 57 runs.

So far Vidyalian skipper Sanka Ramesh has claimed 3 for 71.

Earlier Vidyalians were all out for 163 runs with Sanka Ramesh and Janitha Nimesh scoring 43 and 39 runs respectively.

Danuka Dananjaya was the most successful bowler for the visitors with 5 for 58.

Moratu Vidyalaya 163 (Sanka Ramesh 43, Janitha Nimesh 39, Ishan Peiris 20, Kavindu Ashan 4 for 65, Danuka Dananjaya 5 for 58).

Royal College, Panadura 216 for 5 (Dumindu Ashan 95, Kavindu Ashan 57, Sanka Ramesh 3 for 71, Zafran Preena 2 for 52).
