Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal will visit Killinochchi
and Mulaitivu tomorrow (18) to open the Hatton National Bank branch in
Mulaitivu and the Commercial Leasing and The Finance Company branch
office in Killinochchi.
The Governor will also lay foundation stone for the Yalpanam Dairy
Ltd in Kanagambinikulam, Killinochchi.
The opening of bank branch offices in Mulaitivu and Killinochchi is
to attract new businesses and to provide and expand existing financial
and leasing facilities in the North while supplementing the government
efforts to develop the region.
"We will be opening our 50th branch office in Killinochchi to widen
the reach in the North and the East regions. We have several branches in
the region at present and are looking at expanding our network to serve
more customers, a Commercial Leasing and Finance Company official told
Daily News Business.
"The expansion plan of the company is to have more presence in the
North and the East region where there are booming business opportunities
in financial and leasing sectors. As the company has obtained licence to
provide financial services from last December, we will be aggressively
looking at providing a holistic service to potential customers once the
basic infrastructure and systems are ready, he said.
The Commercial Leasing and Finance Company has currently launched
financial services internally and has not started a comprehensive
marketing campaign yet.
"We will be marketing aggressively from next month and will be
focusing on differentiation strategy to encourage potential customers to
benefit from our unique financial product portfolio in the near future,"
the official said. |
