MEP youth organization president calls on prelates

President of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) Youth Organization, Yadamini Gunawardena called on the Malwatte and Asgiriya prelates at their temples in Kandy and received their blessings recently.

During the discussions held with the prelates, Yadamini Gunawardena stressed the need to protect the free education system in Sri Lanka and called upon the prelates to take steps to protect and nurture free education.

He said governments since independence had protected this system irrespective of their political hues and this system should be further protected to strengthen Sri Lanka’s future generations. He also called upon the prelates to defeat all forces arraigned against the free education system, said a press release by the MEP Youth Organization.
